James considers his major role in life is to be a coach. If you were to ask those who are close to him, they would agree that he is always looking to help those around him become stronger in their faith, lives, and Lord! Mentoring people in life and faith is his main passion. Through creative teaching, accountability and a wide gambit of experience, lives are changed through his obedience and staying ‘stupid’ for the Lord.
James is available to speak to your congregation, leaders or any other group. His passion in sharing God’s Word has a way of bringing life change through the Holy Spirit.
Starting his ministry service in South Georgia, God has moved him to many different experiences in his journey. James has served as an Executive & Sr. Pastor as well as in children’s & youth ministries for over 12 years. His background in worship and music performance gives a wide variety of ‘wisdom’ in many areas of church and ministry.
Before surrendering fully to God’s call to serve he owned a Marketing and Business Development firm in Savannah, GA. He holds a BBA in Marketing and a Th.M. and is working toward MDiv & ThD over the next 61 years. (This is a funny folks) His most impressive accomplishment is God’s Grace found in his wife and best friend Robyn who shares with James the parents of four wonderfully amazing children.
James currently serves as the Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church in Newark California and has aspirations of seeing FBC Newark be a Kingdom Growth Center for the Bay Area and Northern California.
What I Believe
God’s Word
I believe in the Divine and Holy Authority of Scripture as God’s inspired, infallible and inerrant Word. The scriptures give us everything we need to Know God and His Son Jesus Christ as well as everything we need in life to succeed and live a fulfilled life every day.
The Trinity
I believe that God exists as a TRIUNE God or ONE God in three distinct persons. God created the universe with the power of His Word and His nature is eternal, unchanging, omnipotent, omnipresent, holy, righteous, and loving. God is self-existent and rules over all creation.
Mankind
I believe that man is created in God’s image and is both physical and spiritual in nature. Because of man’s choice to sin, we are born into a nature that is opposite of God’s. Therefore, we are separated from Him for all eternity in fellowship. Our sin is evil and the effects of sin is death both now and eternally.
Jesus Christ
I believe in the Grace of God who in His sovereignty sent His son Jesus Christ, who is fully God and fully man, to save us from the death and bondage of our sin. Christ was born of a virgin, died for our sins on a cross and rose from the dead and lives today in the flesh at the right hand of the Father. Christ will return to gather the saints and judge the world and He is the only way to eternal life, Heaven and God.
The Local Church
I believe that the Body of Christ is the Church and is comprised of all those who have a true relationship with Jesus Christ and therefore are filled with the Holy Spirit. The church is organized for the worship of God, the fellowship of believers, to evangelize the lost, to promote spiritual growth and accountability to believers and the administration of the ordinances. I believe that Christ established the church and desires to see the body function in health and obedience to the great commandment and the great commission. Matthew 22:37; Matthew 28:19,20
